Note:

This was the first of Town’s bridges in North Carolina. After serving for about half a century, the Yadkin River Bridge fell into disrepair and disappeared by 1881. Its stone piers were reused in 1899 to carry a steel toll bridge (now gone) on the same site. The five stone piers survive.
