Note:

For the administration building for the local YWCA, Macklin employed a domestic scale and form and restrained Georgian Revival details. He specified that the bricks would be made by hand by Winston-Salem’s master brickmason George H. Black (1879-1980), an African American craftsman who also made many bricks for Old Salem.
