Note:

The epitome of the “Southern Colonial” style with towering portico, this grand residence in the Carolina Heights suburb in the prestigious 1700 block of Market Street was built for textile industrialist Edwin Cameron Holt of Graham, N. C., of the Holt textile family, and his wife, Delores Delgado Stevens of Charleston, S. C. Edwin was president of Wilmington’s Delgado Cotton Mills. The house was later owned by heiress Jesse Hargrave Kenan Wise and now belongs to the University of North Carolina in Wilmington.
