Note:

John S. Norris remodeled or rebuilt the bank after a fire, and it is believed that he made the bank into Wilmington’s first example of the bracketed Italianate style, featuring perhaps the city’s first use of a canopy roofed cast-iron entrance porch, a form he used again in Savannah.
