Note:

The Jones-Jarvis house (shown on the left in the photograph) is so similar to the Smallwood House next door (on the right) that it has been attributed on stylistic grounds to Asa King, who was described as the carpenter for the Smallwood House. Both have elaborate Federal style finish typical of New Bern in the period.
