Ca. 1756-1759; early 19th century [addition]; 1880s
126 W. Queen St., Edenton, NC
Thomas R. Butchko, Edenton, an Architectural Portrait: The Historic Architecture of Edenton, North Carolina (1992).
The small original house was radically expanded in the 19th century, leaving few elements visible of the mid-18th century dwelling. See Butchko, Edenton, for a fuller description. After Gilbert Leigh sold his house at 120 W. Queen in 1771, he is thought to have lived in this house until he sold it in 1777.
