Note:

The small original house was radically expanded in the 19th century, leaving few elements visible of the mid-18th century dwelling. See Butchko, Edenton, for a fuller description. After Gilbert Leigh sold his house at 120 W. Queen in 1771, he is thought to have lived in this house until he sold it in 1777.
