Note:
Described as the second cotton mill in Charlotte, the mill began in a 1-story brick building that produced cotton yarn. In 1901 it was refitted and enlarged as the Orient Cotton Mill which wove finished fabric. The boiler room and chimney stack date from the 1889 complex and other structures from 1901.
