An article in the May 25, 1922 issue of the Manufacturers’ Record—”Remarkable Church Building Activity Throughout the South Involving Over $25,000,000”—indicates on page 66 that Burkhead Methodist Churchwas designed by C. W. Carlton and built by J. E. Randleman. The cost was anticipated to be $40,000. It was replaced by the current edifice in 1978-1979. See also http://burkheadumc.org/history/.
